CCP offers classes for children and teens at the Mt. Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth Ave, in Alexandria, VA.
Classes support CCP’s commitment to inspire creativity in children, develop their dance technique, and provide dance performances opportunities. Classes introduce students to modern dance technique, movement improvisation, and basic choreographic concepts such as floor patterns, tempo, and movement quality. Students develop physical strength and flexibility as well as artistic and creative skills. Classes are customized for each age range and skill level.
In addition, because CCP believes that performances are critical to developing the children’s self-confidence, teamwork, and discipline, students are offered opportunities to perform at CCP concerts and informal performances.
